The Sailmaking Craft of Zafer Leyne
Zafer Leyne discovered his passion for sailing as a child, growing up with the winds of the Aegean. Beginning as an apprentice in Bodrum's shipyards, he learned the intricacies of traditional gulet building from his masters and nurtured the dream of founding his own sail loft.
In 2010 he founded MossSails and turned that dream into reality. Ever since, he crafts every sail with the same care as if it were for his own boat. For him, sailmaking is not just a trade — it is an art where wind, sea and craftsmanship meet.
Today Zafer and his team craft custom sail solutions for every vessel — from cruising yachts to traditional gulets, from racing boats to leisure craft. Combining Dacron, Pentex and premium laminate fabrics with modern techniques, they deliver durable, high-performance sails.
